This year at Bolt FM we are not only bolting communities together, but are enabling young people in Africa to have a voice. Through funding from the National Lotteries Commonwealth Legacy Fund we have been able to secure a mobile studio for our partners in Ndola, Zambia. Through simultaneous broadcasts young people will be able to share in the important issues of the day.
The Rev Chanda, who is leading the project in Ndola, says that “Many young people are very creative and I believe this will be a wonderful opportunity for them to express their potential! ”.
Neil Young, Team Leader at St. Paul’s Youth Forum who applied for the funding for Bolt FM is delighted that the partnership with Ndola is continuing. “Young people from the North East of Glasgow have had their lives transformed through exchanges with Zambian young people, now we can have a constant method of communication where young people are able to discuss the issues that effect them and learn new skills at the same time. We are delighted with this partnership and the potential this creates for both cities.”
